Founded in 1918, The Worthys WI has continued to meet regularly apart from a break during WW11.
Meetings are held at the Lionel Tubbs Hall, Fraser Road, Kings Worthy, SO23 7PJ at 2pm on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month (except August when we have a social event or trip.)
Within the Worthys WI there is a Scrabble Group, a Reading Group, a Craft Group and a Walking Group. Members regularly attend theatre trips or meet at the bi-monthly lunch club. There is also a popular summer garden tea party.
2018 was The Worthys WI centenary year and many extra activities and events were arranged for our members and friends and we also joined in those organised by HCFWI.
We took part in the Performing Arts Festival and our choral speaking and group dance teams came second. A special thank you to our member Shirley Lovell, who not only choreographed our entries but performed in both, as well as taking part in the individual classes herself.
Do come along and join in the fun.
