The Stoke Road Sisters are a mixed group of lively fun loving ladies. Our current membership is 71. We love to welcome visitors to our meetings, if you are interested in coming along to see what goes on at our meetings. Please contact us, so we can add you to our visitors waiting list, we will get in contact with you as soon as we can offer you a space.
Our meetings are held at the Stoke Road Methodist Church, Stoke Road, Gosport, PO12 1JB, we meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm, our doors open at 7.15pm. There is a very small carpark to the rear of the church and lots of on road parking directly outside the church on Stoke Road and also in the nearby streets. If you at using public transport there is bus stop by the church.
We have a variety of interesting meetings coming up for 2019. We also have a well attended book club, crochet club, knit and natter group, as well as other social activities and trips. We also take part in local community events.
Our Monthly Meetings for 2019
2nd January – Kick off the new year Indian style , with Shailly Mobi, authentic Indian Bollywood dance teacher, Shailly will be teaching us some traditional, energetic, fun Indian dance techniques.
6th February – How to find confidence in colour and how colour can work for you, through colour analysis with our award winning therapist Lesley Wrankmore.
6th March – Hampshire & IOW Wildlife Trust – hear first hand about the conservation work that the trust do, to ensure our local habit provides a home for wildlife.
3rd April – Health Road Show
1st May – Annual Meeting – Followed by an enlightening evening of “Would I lie to you” find out what secrets our members are hiding!
5th June – Learn the fascinating facts, secrets and history, of Gosport with knowledgeable local historian Peter Keats.
3rd July – Art try your hand!!
August – No meeting – Family picnic 10th August, Nicholson Gardens.
4th September – Hats off to Millinery with Couture Milliner “Hat Lady” Sophie Fryer.
2nd October – Mouth and Foot artist – Tom Yendell will tell us about fascinating journey as a disabled artist.
6th November – Christmas Craft.
4th December – Macaron masterclass with Debbie Towlson.
