The Sotonettes are a WI based in central Southampton. Some people call us a ‘modern WI’ – whatever we’re called, we aim to mix traditional WI principles with a focus on topics and interests relevant to our members. Our meetings are a place where women of all ages from the local community can share interests and learn new skills, and, most importantly enjoy themselves.
We meet on the last Tuesday of the month (excluding December) at 7.30pm in The Top Hall, Above Bar Church, 69 Above Bar Street, Southampton, Hants, SO14 7FE.
Visitors are always very welcome, subject to a fee of £5 (£3 for members of other WIs). You may visit us up to three times before we ask you to join.
We hold a Craft Night on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, 7pm-9pm, in the IKEA Restaurant, Southampton and our Book Club is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, 7pm-9pm in the Maritimo Lounge, Ocean Village, Southampton. Both these events are free of charge and open to everyone.
In the months with five Tuesdays, we also run a Cake Club on the 4th Tuesday.
If you’d like to know more about what the Sotonettes have been up to and information about all of our events, have a look at our website at www.sotonettes.co.uk.
