WI Hall, Ramley Road, Pennington,
Hampshire SO41 8HE
Welcome to the Pennington WI page. Our monthly meetings are start at 7.00pm in our own Hall on Ramley Road in Pennington. The meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month, apart from August when we have our annual outing. At our meetings, we enjoy a range of speakers and demonstrations as well as a raffle, craft share table and don’t forget a good natter. Between our meetings, we regular meet up for all sorts of activities including a weekly ‘Stitches’ club and monthly ‘Lunch’ club. There is lots of parking at the hall both within the hall boundaries and as well as unrestricted parking on the adjacent roads. Our hall is easily accessible by wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
We are a friendly and welcoming bunch with over 40 members of all ages. Pennington W.I. was formed in 1923,’ holding its first organised monthly meeting on 13th February under the presidency of Mrs Fullerton. A demonstration of cane chair seating and a lecture on elocution was arranged for the evening which was well attended.’ Although Pennington is a relatively traditional Institute, we are striding into the 21st Century with our own Facebook page. New members and visitors are always welcome. We regularly host coach parties visiting our local area for Cream Teas and Afternoon Teas.
