Four Marks (Afternoon) WI is a friendly thriving Institute with over 70 members. We meet in the Village Hall, Lymington Bottom GU34 5AA on the first Thursday of the month at 2pm. Our inaugural meeting was held in May 1941 and was held in the incubation room of a chicken farm! By March 1942 membership had increased to over 40 and meetings moved to the Village Institute (now called the Village Hall) where we still meet. In addition to our monthly meeting, members enjoy additional activities: Craft meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday afternoons each month sharing interests and skills in many crafts. From time to time we may also undertake a project for the Village. Miscellany is an informal and light-hearted discussion group which meets every few weeks. Topics are chosen by the group and cover art, literature, music, foreign countries, the cinema and many more. Scrabble meets monthly on dates convenient to the group in members’ homes. Outings are arranged several times a year to places of interest. We also have Skittles and Quiz teams which compete in the annual Federation competitions. You will receive a very warm welcome as a visitor or new member. Please do just turn up on the day.
