Denvilles WI was formed on 3rd May 1984. We meet at the Havant Meeting Place, Elm Lane, Havant, PO9 1PP on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm.
We are a friendly group of ladies (47 members) who have a wide variety of interests. If you are new to the area, would like a new interest, or maybe have always wondered what belonging to the WI means, why not give it a try? You have nothing to lose and it may be one of the best things you have ever done.
We aim to have meetings that are stimulating, interesting and entertaining. As well as a speaker or other activity, we hold a raffle at our meetings and often have a sales table of various crafts, plants, clothes and books. We are members of the Staunton group and take part in darts and quiz competitions.
As well as our monthly meetings, we have a range of regular groups,
including a book group, darts, bridge knitting, table tennis and walking. Throughout the year we also organise trips to local places of interest, such as Salisbury Cathedral, the RNLI at Poole etc.
We are hoping to restart meetings on 1 September 2021. Our programme for the rest of 2021 (subject to any COVID restrictions and/or guidelines) is:
1st September: Relaxed ‘get together’ with a game and quiz.
