We are a new WI established in February 2020 but unfortunately, due to lockdown, we were only able to hold two meetings. During that time, we kept in regular contact with our members by hand delivering monthly newsletters, gifts and birthday cards and regularly chatting on the phone. We initiated a Craft Project providing knitted blankets, bed socks and twiddle muffs for the elderly care ward at Frimley Park Hospital, keeping our group busy during the long winter months. When lockdown began to ease, we met outside for afternoon tea and picnics in the park. Our monthly walks have restarted often followed by a cup of tea at a nearby cafe. From August 2021, we resumed our face to face meetings and will be meeting, in future, on the third Wednesday of every month at 2.00pm at Cove Methodist Church, 63 Cove Road, Farnborough, Hants, GU14 0EL
We will also be restarting our monthly craft afternoons from the first Wednesday in September at 2pm in Cove Methodist Church. We are planning a monthly lunch club, afternoon teas and outings to local gardens and place of interest. We have a loyal membership of 29 Friends, a dedicated committee and we are very excited for the future of our group.
