New allergen labelling law goes live
As of October 2021, a new allergen labelling regulation for prepacked for direct sale foods, also known as Natasha’s Law, is in place. From now on, all food known as prepacked for direct sale needs to be labelled with the name of the product and full ingredient information, with allergens emphasised.
Businesses need to check if their products require PPDS labelling and what they need to do to comply with the new rules. The new labelling will help protect consumers by providing potentially life-saving allergen information on the packaging.
You can find detailed labelling guidance such as videos and checklists on the Food Standards Agency’s website.
