Looking back over 2016 we seem to have provided an enjoyable time for members and been given opportunities for us to help others. Our stall at the Alverstoke Michaelmas Fayre was very successful this year with everything being sold. We have colected items for the Basic Bank, The Homeless charity and filled baskets and shoe boxes. A visit to Salisbury with a cookery demonstration at Waitrose gave us ideas for new dishes.
A trip to Chichester Festival Theatre for the Royal Marines Concert lifted the spirit and soothed the mind. We have just had an excellent Christmas party with entertainment from the Stokes Bay Strummers. We will shortly be attending our new year meal and then looking forward to the Federation Spring Council Meeting, at Portsmouth, and our turn at hosting the Peninsular Group Meeting in March with a flower arranging demonstration from Michael Bowyer.
Our speakers cover a wide range of topics and in-house entertainment gives pleasure to all. Coffee mornings, meals and other meeting ensure all members are able to enjoy events at our WI whatever their interest. We look forward to many more events.
We meet on the third Monday each month at HEDCA, Coombe Road
Gosport at 7.30pm. and our venue has disabled access.
Our meetings include refreshments. We award a bursary to Denman College every two years, any member can enter the draw for this.
A craft group meet every month on the first Wednesday.
A walk is held on second Thursday each month, meeting in the carpark at Lee-on-the-Solent at 9am.
