Everton & Lymore WI held their first meeting on 5th December 1922. The Institute was founded by Lady Whitehead. At present we have 29 members. We meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm at St Mary’s Church Hall, Branwood Close, Everton, SO41 0LU. We meet in a converted barn for our craft meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Come and ask us about this. We always participate in the New Forest Show. Several of our members were awarded stars last year (2016), including a number of silver. The members last big project was to make a Crib Scene from plastic bottles, pebbles and tennis balls. This took pride of place at the village church’s Crib Festival. Everyone is now busy preparing for this year’s New Forest Show.
We are part of the Lymington Group of Institutes and join them for a skittles competition, also the Group Quiz.
December 2016 it was our turn to host Lymington Group’s Carol Service. It proved to be a great success.
All visitors and new members are most welcome – do come along and see what you think of us.
