Everton & Lymore WI held their first meeting on 5th December 1922. The Institute was founded by Lady Whitehead. At present we have 30 members. We meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm at St Mary’s Church Hall, Branwood Close, Everton, SO41 0LU. We meet in a converted barn for our craft meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month. Come and ask us about this. We always participate in the New Forest Show. Several of our members were awarded stars last year (2017), including a number of silver. Everyone is now busy preparing for this year’s New Forest Show.
We are part of the Lymington Group of Institutes and join them for a skittles competition, also the Group Quiz.
This year a Gardening Group has been started. It has taken charge of the four planters on the Village Green at the entrance to the village by the Hyundi Garage. The two Horse Chestnut trees on the Green were also provided by Everton WI many years ago.
Pennington WI hosted our Group’s Carol Service this year.
All visitors and new members are most welcome – do come along and see what you think of us.
