As the name suggests, we focus on bringing out member’s creative skills!
We aim to give members a broad spectrum of courses ranging from flower arranging, to gift wrapping and drawing!
Our aim is to make our courses informative and fun. They usually include lunch so that everyone can sit down and chat about all things WI and beyond!
If you have any suggestions or ideas for courses, do let us know.

This unusual exhibition of spoons, is the result of a project working in collaboration with the NFWI Craft Committee. The aim was to encourage WI makers of all abilities to attend workshops held at the museum and working with textile artist Suzie Gutteridge, to knit or stitch spoons inspired by those in the museum’s collection. Once created, all these beautiful and individual pieces were sent to ceramic artist Julie Myers, to be transformed by being dipped in porcelain and fired. The result is a testament to the imagination, skill and creativity of WI members.
Members of the WI will receive 50% off a day ticket entry
The Knit and Knatter Group of Forty Acres WI meet in the Green Room of the Manor Public House in Cosham kindly lent to them by the management, every Wednesday morning. Their newest item that many of the members are making are Sensory Bands or Dementia Muffs for people in Residential Homes with memory problems. They are decorated with buttons, bows, beads, zips and anything to keep the fingers active. Picture sent by Elizabeth Beckett.
